MORE PERFORMANCE, MORE STABILITY, MORE WAVES
The wave-ripper for real-world riders. Floaty, fun, and the king of catching waves. You’ll make any kind of mush highly surf-able with this shape.
8’5” x 30” Pocket Rocket
Stable short board for riders looking for more progressive surfing in all conditions.
- Wide rounded nose makes it stable to ride the nose.
- Nose Kick prevents the nose from diving when getting into waves and paddling in choppy water.
- Mono to double concave provides speed to catch the wave and then has sensitive rail-to-rail turning from the midpoint
- Thin rail to make turning easy and sensitive in the waves
- Flat standing area allows to have wider stance for extra stability in chop.
- Wide rounded tail improves stability when stepping on the board to turn. It also gives release out of turns.
- V-Tail bottom shape for reactive pivot turning on the tail
- Pocket Rocket allows both thruster and quad set up. Quad fin set up uses 4 side fins and gives fast acceleration and instant down the line speed as it does not have drag from the larger centre fin

Explore Blue Carbon Eco Board Technology
LIGHTEST WEIGHT, BEST RESPONSE, STRONGEST BUILD
The Brushed Carbon Sandwich technology we pioneered in SUP 10 years ago has been gradually improved year by year. Winning 7 out of 8 Gold medals in the ISA SUP Surf Worlds over the last 4 years may indicate the Innovation Quality obtained. Now the new 2019 Blue Carbon boards have achieved a level of performance and sustainability unpreceded in our industry. It’s the first ever Gold level ECO SUP board and our World Champions swear by them with their class act performance. The only black carbon remaining is a UD 80 strip in the rail area with the highest overall total failure potential, continuing our Zero breakage voyage by utilizing other better suited materials where basic impact resistance is vital.
What is an eco board?
-
ARMA FOAM MADE FROM 100% PLASTIC BOTTLES
High density RPET Foam made from 100% recycled plastic bottles wraps the entire deck and rails for high impact strength and overall breakage. -
END GRAIN BALSA HONEYCOMB PROPERTIES
By turning the balsa grains vertically within the sandwich structure, Starboard's innovative end-grain sandwich connects the top and bottom faces with millions of vertical, honeycomb-like pillars. This high-density End Grain Balsa sustainably sourced from Ecuador covers the full bottom for incredible impact resistance and fatigue strength. -
FULL FLAX RAIL
Natural uni-directional flax sourced from Europe wraps the full rails. Having the fibres aligned in one direction stiffens the board and prevents total breakage. Flax fibre reduces 90% of embodied energy consumption compared to fibreglass and is bio-degradable. -
EPS CORE - 15kg/m3 DENSITY
Shear resistant, fused and moulded individually to fit each and every Starboard board, providing high strength at the lightest weight. Our moulded core technology produces zero EPS wastage. -
LIGHT S-GLASS
High-grade lightweight S-Glass wraps the full deck and bottom. S-Glass has a higher tensile strength than most carbon and is over twice as strong as conventional glass. It also has a lower resin uptake resulting in lighter weight. -
MULTIPLE REINFORCEMENT
Multiple reinforcements in the standing area, nose and tail increase impact resistance. -
WATER BASED DYE REPLACING PU PAINT
Natural water-based dye is used on the deck and bottom, reducing harmful toxins & paint chips. -
RECYCLED EVA DECK PAD
We are shifting toward recycled EVA deck pads from post industrial EVA waste, increasing UV protection & reducing the use of petroleum.
