An ultra-thin shape that enables you to rip even when the swell's barely there. Everything about the Air Born has been designed to achieve the best performance in any mushy waves. Its fish-style outline offers great shortboard carving. The thin, high-apex rail lets the water flow around it, accelerating the board on the rail. This gives you the feel of riding a steep barrel wave. This ultra-thin profile allows the board to flex more and store all the energy ready for release on your airs or cutbacks.
"I recently took this board to Bali for a girls surf and yoga trip. My friends all had regular surf boards, so I wanted to keep my gear small and lightweight. Before heading to Old Mans at Canggu, we surfed a couple of days at Keramas, a powerful fast barrelling wave, and I really enjoyed sitting wide and catching the left overs after the short-board surfers bailed. The board was so much fun, it was so easy to slide around and float over the lumps, it turned so easily and because it was so light, I never felt like it was going to haul me by the legrope over the reef if I fell. I could even fit it in the surfboard rack on the rental scooter and speed down to the beach for a quick sunset session after leaving the yoga shala. If you're an ok beginner to intermediate surfer (ie you can catch a wave and turn along it), and you prefer surfing smaller waves (or thats all you got when you're at the bach) then I recommend you give this board a try. It is amazing what a difference having a shorter, lighter board can do for your surfing when you're ready to start getting into more progressive turns and manouevres. And at this price? Go on.. you're never too old" - Victoria, 43.
